Service Details
Wesley T. Jarnagin, 91, passed away on January 24, 2014. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 30 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church, 4600 Meredith Dr., Des Moines, IA. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.
Wesley was born on February 13, 1922 to Margaret (Redling) and John W. Jarnagin. He joined the U.S. Marines after high school. He has been the owner of Wes Jarnagin Painting for over 60 years. Wes loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 66 years, Patricia; sons, W. Dennis (Londa Anne) Jarnagin, Mark (Dorothy Jean) Jarnagin, William (Linda) Jarnagin; grandchildren, Virginia, David, Jenelle, Elaine, Joanna, Robert and Daniel; and five great-grandchildren.

A good man. A credit to the construction business where he was known for keeping his word. And he was the most fun guy I know to have on a fishing trip(it helped that his wife would make some pork chops and gravy to get the fish trip started).

And boy, did he like the chocolate I put in the candy dish every day. love and prayers to you all. Wes was like a second father to me. I grew up around Wes on the weekends. He helped teach me the value of hard and honest work. I have valued that throughout my life. There are many good Wes stories that we will all still enjoy for many years. Prayers to the family from Jenna, Jared and myself.

So sorry to hear of your loss. During my time working for Wes, I learned more about my trade than any other time in my career. He truly cared about the men that worked for him, and they all had a lot of respect for Wes. He will be missed by all who knew him.
