Carol Ann (Silver) Williams

Carol Ann (Silver) Williams, 64, of Des Moines passed away peacefully, after a courageous four year battle with cancer, on Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Kavanagh House on 56th, with her husband, Don “Donnie” Williams and her mother, Miriam Turner at her side.

Carol was born in Pueblo, Colorado to Roland and Miriam (Becker) Silver. After her family moved to Iowa, Carol attended school in Ottumwa, Iowa, where she graduated from high school in 1967. Carol met and married her childhood sweetheart, Don “Donnie” Williams. They moved to Des Moines where she lived most of the rest of her life. She was an employee of Principal Financial for 40 Years. Carol thoroughly enjoyed life with all her friends and interests in drag car racing, traveling, cooking and reading.

Carol is survived by her husband, Don “Donnie” and her mother, Miriam Silver Turner, of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her father, Roland Silver, her step-father, Danny Turner, and her son, Rob Williams.

The family will greet friends on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 12 p.m. at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
