Service Details
Barry Ernest Gisslen, 69, passed away January 24, 2014. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 10395 University Ave. in Clive, IA.
Barry was born on May 28, 1944 in Rockford, IL to Elizabeth and Ernest Gisslen. He married Janice Johnson and together they owned the Stride Rite Bootery in Valley West Mall. Barry was very active in the community, as well as with the Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janice; his children, Gretchen (Eric) Vigil, Kathy (Al) Zuccarini, Dan (Keri) Gisslen; grandchildren, Barry, Joey, Jacob, Crissy, and one on the way; brother, Nick (Jane) Gisslen; and sister, Barb (Carl) Jackson. Barry was preceded in death by his parents.
