Service Details

Jennifer D. Adair, 70, of Cape Coral, FL passed January 23, 2014, in Arkansas with loving family present. Jennifer, the daughter of the late Neill and Peggy Porter, was born August 9, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa and grew up in Altoona, Iowa. She graduated from Altoona High School and received her bachelor and master degrees in education from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Her teaching career spanned nearly 30 years, mostly in the Southeast Polk School District in Iowa. She married Dan Adair in 1984. After retiring from teaching, Jennifer and Dan traveled, dividing their time between homes in Bayfield, WI and Cape Coral, FL.

Jennifer was defined by her focus on family and the joy she got from being involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. She raised three successful, loving, and devoted children. Trips were always being planned so she could attend grandchildren’s activities. Her other great pleasure came from the pets she lovingly cared for and raised through the years; the latest recipient of her love is a rescue dog named Radar.

She is survived by her husband, Dan Adair; her only sibling, Pam Wilson of Bayfield, WI; her sons, Brett Anderson (Lisa) of St. Charles, MO, Eric Anderson (Cynthia) of Cedar Rapids, IA, and her daughter, Heidi Campbell (Greg) of Benton, AR. Jennifer is also survived by her grandchildren, Tara Anderson, Brooke Anderson, Ben Anderson, Katherine Anderson, Collin Campbell and Caroline Campbell.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at the New Altoona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wee Waggin Rescue, PO Box 448, Estero, FL, 33029.
