Dale Dyer, 75, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Dale was born July 1, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa to James and Medaline (Thompson) Dyer. He graduated from East High School, class of ’58, and was employed by the Des Moines Register as an independent contractor. Dale enjoyed supporting his grandson, Ryan in all his activities. He liked fishing, gambling, and watching old westerns.
Dale is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters, Juli Dyer and Robin (Ed) Hilding; grandson, Ryan Hilding; brothers, Dick (Wilma), Ralph (Bert), Charlie (Pat), and Ted (Joann) Dyer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ed Dyer; sister, Barbara Hasting; and first wife and mother of his children, Shirley Anton Dyer.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, also at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to EHS Class of ’58 Scholarship Fund or Easton Place United Methodist Church.
