Carl Ford

Carl A. “Mike” Ford, 73, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at his home. He was born March 11, 1940 in Des Moines.

He retired from John Deere after 29 years of service. Mike enjoyed laying on the couch watching westerns, playing cards and being outdoors. He also enjoyed being with his family and friends especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his daughers, Kim Ford, Misty Ford and Carrie (Gary) Brunk; seven grandchildren, Kent (Meggan) Casebolt, Brandon (Brooke) Casebolt, Shawn Casebolt, Shelby Brunk, Seth Brunk, Haley Brunk and Haden Brunk; seven great-grandchildren, Victoria, Avery, Abbey, Dominic, Dylan, Ireland and Brecken Casebolt; sisters, Margaret (Alan) Herrick, Becky Ford-Quigley, and Jodi Ford; and a host of extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Ford and his grandmother, Carrie Ford.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
