Christie Beer

Christie, 58, was born October 22, 1955, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Donna (Schoon) Lenz. She passed away January 15, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Christie enjoyed her career as a nurse and being able to help others. She had a smile that would brighten anyone’s day. Christie enjoyed playing the piano and organ, reading, gardening, and baking, especially bread and Dutch apple pie.

Christie is survived by her loving husband, Greg Beer; her sons, Matthew (Heather) Miers, Jeffery (Jessica) Miers, Christopher (Shannon) Miers, and Benjamin Miers; step-sons, Eric (Carissa) Beer and Marcus (Jenna) Beer; 14 grandchildren; and her siblings, Randy (Cynthia) Lenz, Brian (Cindy) Lenz, Chuck (Donna) Lenz, Cara Brenza, Wade (Toni) Lenz, Nancy (Rod) Walter, Patrick (Ranae) Lenz, Beth (Cory) Acton, Melinda Lenz Winton, and Michael (Selena) Lenz. She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Steven; and brother-in-law, Tom.

A private Celebration of Life Gathering will be held for the family.
