Ronald Hood

Ronald F. Hood, 66, of Des Moines died on August 7, 2007 at his home in Des Moines. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. The family will greet friends from 4-8 P.M. Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home where there will be a 7:00 P.M. vigil service.
Ron recently retired as general manager from Koch Brothers where he had worked for many years. Earlier in his life Ron spent time as a carpenter and had help build numerous homes. He was a member of Indianola Golf and Country Club and the Isaac Walton League. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed bowling, barbeque grilling and Iowa State Football. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Lana, mother Vivian Hood, children Randy Hood, Timothy Hood, Robyn Hood, Matthew (Teresa) Hood, step-daughter Dara (Chad) Bartels, step-son Randy Soper, grandchildren Brent (Amanda), Amanda, Tyler, Max, Jeffrey, Christian, Harley and Melissa, great grandchild Caden and many very close friends. Ron was also anticipating the arrival of another grandchild and great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his Father James Hood.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Anthony’s Church Foundation or Christ the King Catholic Church.
