Mary Evelyn White passed away surrounded by family on January 12, 2014 at the age of 79. Mary was born February 14, 1934 in Centralia, Illinois to Iona and Paul Wooters. Mary met the love of her life, John, at the age of 14. John was on crutches his 1st day of school. The 1st person he met was Mary as she held the door for him. It was love at first sight! From the beginning they were the best of friends.

When John asked her to go to Missouri to get married she didn’t bat an eye. Off they went and soon discovered there was a 3 day waiting period for the marriage license. Instead they spent their life savings of $71.00 on fireworks and came back home. They married on June 17th, 1951 and John became the luckiest man alive.

For the next 62 plus years Mary was always in for an adventure with John and she loved it! She could be found right next him running the family business and keeping a watchful eye on their four rambunctious children. Whether they were square dancing with their club the Snap-A-Roos or hopping into the Tri-Pacer to visit the nearest airport offering a free breakfast for those who fly in, there was never a dull moment.

She became the heart and soul of a very large and loving family and enjoyed many years of camping, fishing and hanging out with them. Mary loved time with the grandkids and was always there to remind John he was supposed to be the adult when he would bring the kids back to the house covered in mud from head to toe after playing in the woods at the farm! She was the love of John’s life and is an example of what love is supposed to be.

Mary is survived by her husband, John White, children Dave (Kim Polder) White, Randy White, Teresa (Mike) McCabe, Mike White grandchildren Joe (Jenny) White, Milisa (Jason) Tyler, Tracy (Walter) Thompson , Karen White, Stephanie (Ryan) Bos, Nicki White, Tiffany (Paul) Mercer, Kristen Schiaffino, Sara McCabe (Colten Fors), Leslie (Jason) Peterson, Ashley White (Brandon), Jesse White, Jonathon White, Sydney Resser, Jordan White, 26 great-grandchildren and 3 more great grandchildren already on the way, brother, Bob (Jane) Wooters, and Sister In Law, Jannette Wooters.
