James G. Pitts

James Gerald “Jerry” Pitts died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Per his request, no services are planned.

Jerry was born on December 22, 1932 in Flint, Michigan to Ruth Pitts. He served in the United States Army.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Eleanor Rector Pitts; stepchildren, Allan Janssen and Phyllis Nelson; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family or Southside Senior Center, 100 Payton Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50315 in loving memory of Jerry.
