Helen L. Renda died on January 8, 2014 from heart disease.

Helen was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 26, 1916. She graduated from East High School with high honors in January of 1934.

Helen was a legal secretary for Connolly, O’Malley and McNutt. She later became secretary for Robert Conley. Helen was also legal secretary for the Teamsters Local 90 for 25 years. She was loved by everyone.

Helen was a supporter of Bellizzi MacRae American Legion Auxiliary and Society of Italian Americans Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church for many years then attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church after moving to the area.

She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony T. “Toto” Renda in 1968; son; John Andrew Renda; and grandsons, John and Todd Renda. Helen is survived by two sons, Judge Thomas A. Renda and Daniel R. (Barbara) Renda; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Visitation and sharing will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown, 5400 SW 9th Street where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue, followed by burial at St. Ambrose Cemetery next to her husband Toto.
