Christina Simpson

Christina Lynn Simpson was born December 27, 1985 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Ruby Van Meter in 2007 and won many gold metals in the Special Olympics. Christina had a love of music and enjoyed watching Barney and Grease. She also liked playing Yahtzee and swimming. Christina passed away on January 5, 2014 at the age of 28.

She is survived by her parents, Kathy and Tom Baker; siblings, Tommy Jr., Jamie and Timmy Baker; grandma, Katherine Doss; aunts and uncles, Carol (Ted) Bulens, Harvey Baker, Jr., Kathleen Drummond and Marsha Baker; great-aunts and uncles, Mary Lou, John (Tina) and Ruby (Bill); as well as many cousins, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandma, Nancy Ballard; great-grandma, Mary Neal; and grandpas, Harvey Baker, Jr. and James Clark.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines with visitation for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the funeral at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
