Gerald Robert "Bobby" Thompson

Gerald Robert “Bobby” Thompson, 85, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Gerald was born January 12, 1928.

He was a retiree of Firestone Tire in Des Moines, Iowa after 31 years of service. Many would remember him for playing many sports such as softball, football, bowling and baseball, which was his passion. Gerald was a member of the Des Moines Softball Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Harriette Ann Thompson, son, Todd Troy Thompson, and grandson, Scott Troy Thompson, all of Des Moines, Iowa.

Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Jordan United Methodist Church, 1950 SE 4th Street with funeral services beginning at 6:00 p.m.
