Mary Forsyth

Mary Forsyth, 73, passed away on December 31, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines with a vigil service and rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi, 7075 Ashworth Road in West Des Moines.

Mary is survived by her sons, Marc, Steve (Julie) Forsyth; daughter, Cynthia Forsyth; grandchildren, Phoebe, Annie, Madison and Abbey Forsyth; sisters, Betty Allison and Shirley Baker; and brothers, Robert and Dick Allison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anne (Schroeder) and William Allison; and her brothers, Chuck and Johnny Allison.

Mary was born in Norfolk, NE on January 6, 1940. She married Delbert D. Forsyth and raised three children, Steve, Marc, and Cynthia Forsyth. Her career encompassed real estate and interior design, a CFO for physician offices located in the greater Omaha region, and an active lobbyists and political advisor in Des Moines, IA. She enjoyed going to her Catholic Church on Sundays, cooking, decorating, landscaping, and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.
