Nelson Williams

Nelson Williams was born March 13, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Glen and Bertha (Prock) Williams. He was employed by National By-Products as a driver for 23 years until his retirement in 1997. Nelson was a member of Berean Assembly of God Church. He was a lifelong Knoxville Raceway fan and a racing enthusiast. He enjoyed being a member of the HyVee Coffee Club.

Nelson passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013, with his family by his side, at the age of 73. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Cheryl; son, Brian; sisters, Glenda Block, Linda Mallory, Laura Williams, and Debbie Moore; brothers, Donald Clyde and Charles, Leroy, and David Williams; and grandchildren, Sydney and Madison, Shiela and Abby.

He joins his parents, and his siblings, Louis, Jane, Susan, and Velma who precede him in death.

Services will be held at Berean Assembly of God Church, 5299 E. University Avenue, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2014, with funeral service following immediately at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will occur at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Nelson.
