Robert Fees

Robert Donald Fees of Fresno, CA, passed away suddenly and peacefully on December 27, 2013, at the age of 78. He was born July 14, 1935, in Des Moines to Susan (Anderson) and Victor Fees. Robert was known for the strength of his character, an inspiring work ethic, providing wise counsel, and a wicked good sense of humor. He was a friend to many throughout his life, and was respected by people from all walks of life. He was proud of his heritage, his family, and particularly proud of the accomplishments of his descendants and of his siblings' descendants.
 
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 37 years, Bonnie; a grandson, Robert Fees III; and four siblings: Shirley Gostomski, Arlene Carlson, Kenneth Fees, and Ralph Fees.
 
He is survived by his six children: Robert Jr. (Sue), John (Yanzi), Victoria, Thomas (Laurie), Rhonda and Cynthia; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; six siblings: Roy (Betty) Parker, Dorothy King, Ruthie Marksbury, Jackie Cutting, Janet (Ward) Leete, and Gerald (Verlyn) Fees; and sister-in-law, Esther Fees.
 
Services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 12:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. A private burial will occur at Pine Hill Cemetery.
