I knew Carl back in Logan Square (Chicago), long ago when we were
young. He was a big man with a big heart and good humor.
I still remember his hearty laughter.
Rest in peace, my old friend.
Heaven is a happier place.

I knew Carl for maybe the past two years. At our first meeting we started a conversation (Carl was a talker!) where I immediately knew we had much in common, laughter, honesty, passion for life and the importance of family. It was amazing how much we told each other. I treasure those talks we had. It was an honor to know him. Rest assured I will remember his friendship the rest of my life.

He was and is my brother, all I can say is god takes the best. He was a wonderful brother and I will miss him greatly. But he was blessed with a wonderful family that loved him and that will miss his smile which he had on his face all the time.

We were very good friends in high school and were next door neighbors. I was happy my wife had made contact with him on facebook and had hoped we could get together sometime.I substitute teach and saw a great picture of Carl in the Albertville football field house. Captioned under the picture was a statement that he was the outstanding lineman in the state of Alabama his Senior year. To the family you have my sincere condolence.
