Marilu Mattiussi passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Urbandale Health Care. Marilu was born on November 25, 1926 in Fraser, Iowa to Geneva (Johnson) and Thomas Ingalls.

Marilu graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. She enjoyed her lifelong career as a teacher. Marilu was a proud “Pillar of the Parish” at St. Anthony Catholic Church. She was also a member of Bellizzi MacRae, American Legion Auxiliary, the Altar & Rosary Society and the Croation Center. She was an avid Polka dancer, loved to play Bingo, baking pies and cookies and especially loved spending time with her family.

Marilu is survived by her children, Janine, Phillip (Karen), David (Danielle) and Kathy (Richard) Pinneke; grandchildren, Scott Pinneke, Meagan Mattiussi-Fouche, Douglas McQueen, Teresa McQueen and Sarah Pinneke; great-grandchildren, Brendan Pinneke and Kire Standefer; and other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Felix and grandson, Eric Pinneke.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Road. Burial will follow mass at Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m.
