Frances Ann Foggia closed her eyes and met her God on Friday, Aug. 3 at Mercy Medical Center.
Frances was born on February 22, 1920 to Joseph and Rose Grandanette in Des Moines, IA. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy.
Frances and her husband Michael Foggia owned and operated Kewpie Barbecue at 2nd and University Ave. Frances worked at her brothers’ deli., Bernie’s Deli, and The American Child Academy
Frances was preceeded in death by her husband Michael J. Foggia, brothers Ross and Bernard Grandanette, and her sister, Mary Comito.
Those left to honor her memory are daughters, Jeannene McIntosh (Larry), Shelley Schultz (David) and her son Michael Foggia (Louise). Her grandchildren are Robert Oliver (Brenda), Terry McIntosh, Jennifer Adams, Chrissy Karst (Jeremy), Natalie Adams, and Michael and Milena Foggia. Great grandchildren are Danielle McIntosh, Matthew and Clairetta Karst, and Grace and Robert Oliver. Her sisters, Rose Chiodo and Lucille Foggia. Frances is also survived by her sister-in-law Joan Grandanette and numerous nieces and nephews.
To celebrate Frances’ life there will be a visitation at Hamilton Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, on Sunday, August 5, from 5-7 pm with a rosary at 7 pm. Funeral services will be Monday, August 6, at 10:00 am at St. Ambrose Cathedral.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bishop Drumm Care Center, American Cancer Society, or American Heart Association.
