Patricia Cox

Patricia Lee Hurd Cox was born May 9, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois and passed away December 12, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Patti had lived in Des Moines for over 45 years. She retired from the State of Iowa in 1998 after several years of service. Patti enjoyed reading, doing number puzzles, traveling and being with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cheryl (Terry) Goode, Cynthia Pepel and Brenda (Jeff) Sime; son, Douglas (Tiffany) Cox; grandchildren, Staci, Ryan, Kassidy, Jordan Nicole and John; great-grandchildren, Lexi and Kenneth; and a host of other extended relatives and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Irene Hurd, Sr; brother, Donald Hurd, Jr.; and her husband, Kenneth Cox.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm Tuesday, December 18 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A private family graveside service will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery.
