Nina Bennett, 89, of Stuart, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Stuart Community Care Center on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
Nina was born on February 2, 1924 in Wellston, Ohio, the daughter of George and Viola (Sinnott) Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Terry) Myers; sisters, Linda Mahoney and Kay Goodwillie; grandchildren, Denise Myers, Pam Bennett and Cara (Mark) Purdy; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Olivia Purdy, Tyler Bennett, Alexander Sherrick, Jordan and Kaitlyn Wymer, Javier and Gabriella Perez; and great-great-grandchildren, Aiden and Lilliana Bennett.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey “Buck” Bennett; her sons, Garry and David Bennett; and sisters, Annette Ault and Jean Byerly.
Nina’s family has honored her request for cremation. Burial will be held at a later date in Ohio.
The family would like to thank the staff of Stuart Community Care Center Evergreens Unit and Saint Jude’s Hospice for their loving care of Nina.
A memorial has been established to the Stuart Community Care Center Evergreens Unit, 325 SW 7th Street, Stuart, Iowa 50250.

Nina was a lovely presence in my childhood and young adult years. She was a loving cousin (my third cousin??) and such a wonderful friend to my mother, Ruby. She is now, without doubt, a jewel in the crown of the church.

Sorry for your loss she was a very fine woman andd we have fond memories of her and AC on their trips to Shawnee.
