Bernadine Johnson

Bernadine Johnson, 89, entered eternal life on December 9, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bernadine was born on July 14, 1924 in Corydon, Iowa to Lula and E. Frank Dorsey. She married Lyle Keith Johnson from Chariton, Iowa in Princeton, Missouri on November 29, 1941.

Bernadine's greatest joy in life was loving and serving her family. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Lyle, her daughter, Trudy Johnson, son, Lyle Johnson Jr., (Connie) and daughter, Deborah Kearney. Bernadine is survived by 8 grandchildren, Emily Clayton, Amanda Holdmeyer (Eric), Abby Gottner (Chris), Keith Johnson (Jacqueline), Molly Johnson, Carrie Kearney, Kevin Kearney (Brittany), and Joseph Kearney. Bernadine is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, Keegan, Shay, Dain, Zaida and Graham.

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Memorial services held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Hamilton's Funeral Home at 1:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes, Iowa.
