Donald M. Arpy, 63, passed away at UnityPoint Health Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on Sunday, December 8, 2013.
Don was born February 23, 1950 in Des Moines, IA to Donald C. and Joann Arpy. He worked in Production at Atlas Displays and also was a Shear Operator for Ericksons Display. Don enjoyed tinkering in his garage with lawn mowers and fixing cars, but most of all he loved his family and his dogs. Don will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Don is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Jason Arpy, Amanda (Guy) McFarland, Michelle Murphy and Donnie (Jill) Arpy; his grandchildren, Haillie, Madeline, Aidan, Camille, Dylan and Connor; his parents, Donald C. and Joann Arpy; his siblings, Linda Hugen, Mike (Julie) Arpy, Eddie Arpy and Debbie (Glen) Bevill.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm Thursday, December 12 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Don’s family in his loving memory.

Carole, We wish we could have been closer to you during these difficult times. Don has always been a person we respected and loved. His passing has come to soon. Carole, in marriage you dedicated your life to this man and he knew it. Stand tall dear daughter. Your love and affection did not go unnoticed by all who have known you. We will be here for you if and when you need an other shoulder or two. Warm thoughts to you and yours. We will miss him too. We love you much.

Donnie was one of my favorite friends. I haven't seen him for quite awhile but we used to be very close friends. We held each others hands through some bad times. I regret now that I didn't keep in touch with him although I never forgot him. Rest in peace Donnie.
