Alemeta Kay "Te" Downard

Alemeta Kay Downard, 77, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. She was born December 9, 1935.

Alemeta is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Lawrence) Cooper and Rhonda Downard (Kevin Lewis); son, Craig (Brenda) Downard; grandchildren, Bekki, Alesha, Ryhanna, Luke, Alex, and Braden; great-grandchildren, Makenzey, Austyn, and Jaelynn; brothers, Leo (Esther), Jewell (Donna), and Arlo (Janet); as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Hilda Richardson; sister, Nadean Deming; and her husband, Teddy.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.

In loving memory of Alemeta, memorial contributions may be directed to Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley, Iowa.
