June M. Wells

June M. Wells, 79, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at UnityPoint Health Des Moines Methodist.

June was born June 4, 1934, in Rome, New York, to Sherman and Elva Taylor. She married Virgil Wells in 1966. They were married 47 years prior to her death. June enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, boating, and riding motorcycles. She also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. June was an animal lover and fed the neighborhood cats and fox. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

June is survived by her husband, Virgil Wells; children, Suzanne (Robert) Bender, KathEleen Waters, Ted Waters, Daniel Waters, and Penny (Jeff) Crusan; foster son, Chuck (Valerie) Wedgeworth; and her grandchildren, Steve Curtis, Jennifer Buchanan, Tammy Waters, Aaron Christian, Ted Grimm, Terry Halsey, Keria Riggen, Gina Davis, Jacob Waters, Rachel Waters, Paul Smith, Joseph Smith, Jessie Wedgeworth, and John Wedgeworth. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ted Waters; and granddaughter, Shannon Lauer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, followed by burial at North River Cemetery in Indianola. Visitation will be held 12 noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
