Deborah Cory

Deborah, 61, passed away Tuesday December 3, 2013, of complications from cancer, at the Taylor House with family near by. Deborah was born on August 15, 1952, to Fred & Norma Kain in Des Moines, Iowa.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as many other things from gardening and traveling to new places. She also really enjoyed learning, studying and sharing her wisdom with others. One of her proudest moments was when she graduated last year in July with an intergraded marketing with creation concentration degree, she wanted other people to know that it was not too late to get a degree at 59.

Deborah is survived by her mother, Norma Barnes (Kain); her sister, Kathlyn Hyde; and brother, Bill Kain; six nieces; one nephew; and ten great-nieces. Deborah was preceded in death by her infant brother, Danny Kain; her father, Fred Kain; and her grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013 at St. Johns Lutheran Church at 600 6th Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa. Family and friends are welcomed to visit with her family from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. following the service, at her mother’s home at 2338 Des Moines Street.
