Barbara Harang

Barbara Ann (Kriz) Harang, 61, passed away December 2, 2013 at Pleasantville Nursing Home. She was born June 10, 1952 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Eugene and Ruth Kriz. She graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1970 and the University of Northern Iowa in 1975. Barbara worked for many years as a medical technologist at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. She loved to travel, enjoyed sewing, and adored her cats. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and devoted her time caring for her two daughters.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Kristen (Brad) Holtan and Jenna (Jonathan) Grimm; granddaughters, Avery and Delaney Holtan; brothers, Stephen (Mary) and Kenneth Kriz; and nieces and nephews, Alex, Kevin, Libby, Alyson, and Sophia Kriz. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.
