Karen D. Randles

Karen Randles, 77, was born September 20, 1936, in Des Moines, the daughter of Claire and Iva Whitney. She passed away December 2, 2013, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

Karen was a member of Norwoodville Baptist Church. She enjoyed family gatherings and reunions.

Karen is survived by her daughter Doris (Randy) Johnson; sons, Daniel (Dena) Randles and Douglas Randles; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way; as well as her brothers, Gordon (Beverly) Whitney, Norman (Mavis) Whitney and James (Kathy) Whitney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles and son, David.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
