William Adams

William Robert “Griz” Adams, 61 of Altoona began his eternal ride on Sunday December 1, 2013 due to sudden illness. He was born on April 8, 1952. He served in the Army. Throughout his life for work and pleasure he traveled insurmountable miles across the county in an 18 wheeler or riding his Harley. He was a dedicated member to the Iron Warriors Motorcycle Club. When not on the road he spent his free time visiting his friends, neighbors, children and grandchildren. His booming laughter and huge hugs will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

He is survived by his 3 children, Joshua (Meagan) Chambers, Griswold, Jennifer (Brandon) Dawson, Bellvue Nebraska and Jessica Roll, Cedar Rapids, 2 grandchildren; 2 sisters Phyllis (Raymond) Wilson, Des Moines, Cathy Adams, Glenwood; 2 nieces Holli Kimsey, Elliott, Shelli Adams, Red Oak; 2 Nephews Carl (Shannon) Wilson, Des Moines, Jerry Wilson, LeMoore, CA; 1 Aunt Marjorie Priede, Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents Rose Margaret Whitmore and William Thomas Adams.

Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday December 7th from 3-5:30 pm at Angeo's on 8th, 1238 8th St. West Des Moines. In lieu of flowers please make donations to IWMC Public Safety Officers Welfare Fund, PO Box 1844 Des Moines, IA 50305.
