Ronald Koons

Ron Koons, 59, passed away peacefully Friday, November 29, 2013, at Unity Point Health Des Moines Methodist. He was born on May 14, 1954, in Knoxville, to Marion Koons and Emma Chapman.

Ron was a mechanic who enjoyed helping others and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons, who he loved very much.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Debbie; sons, John (Beth) and Matthew (TaLia); grandsons, Gavin and Daxton; mother, Emma Chapman; siblings, Shirley, Pam, Barb, Lois, and Marty; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marion; brother, Russ; and sisters, Sandy and Cindy.

Celebration of life services will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
