Edna Mae Coughennower, 81, was born May 4, 1932, in Rockwell City, IA, to Edward and Nellie Cornelison. She passed away on November 25, 2013, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Edna enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, and spending time with family and friends
Edna is survived by her husband of 63 years, Marion; children Debbie (Mark) Ebbrecht, Steve (Robin) Coughennower, Cindy (Mark) Chappelle, Amy (Mark) Hedberg; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and granddaughter, Stacey Bailey.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2013, at Altoona Funeral Home, 104 4th St SW, with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Altoona Public Library, in memory of Edna.

I remember Edna fondly as a neighbor and when I'd babysit for the girls on Saturdays. A very nice woman and a great mother. Mom showed me the obituary in the paper. Apologize for not writing this sooner. My thoughts have been with you all!

My heart goes out to Marion and family in the loss of Edna. No one ever had better neighbors. I will miss Edna and her wonderful, warm smile. God Bless.
