I recall John's very supportive supervision when I worked as one of the 1st group home workers for LSS in the early to mid-1970's. He and others on the LSS staff influenced my decision to expand my professional options through graduate school. I know that he very positively influenced the lives of many.

Odil & I send our condolences. We're glad to know that when John passed away, he was surrounded by all of you. Though I barely knew John, knowing that he helped to raise both of you, Mike & Scott, I know he must have been a very special man.

John was my practicum instructor when I was a MSW student at Lutheran Social Services. This was 1970 and 1971.He consented to be my best man when I was married in 1971. I still have the photo from that day.
He taught me alot about becoming a social worker, and I use what he taught me with students I now mentor. He will always be in my thoughts. Rest in Peace John.
