Kenneth James Doherty, 69, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013, at Perry Health Care Center in Perry, Iowa.
Kenneth was born November 1, 1944, in Brownsville, Texas, the son of Kenneth O. and Claudia B. (Popejoy) Doherty.
He is survived by his half-brother, Burlen Ross of Des Moines, and nieces, Brenda and Lona, and nephew, Burlen, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 25, 2013, at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Perry Care Center.

Jimmy was a special person loved by residents and staff of Perry Health Care Center and the staff of HCI Hospice Care Services. We wish family and friends comfort and joy in the memories of Jimmy. HCI Hospice Care Services will be providing a memorial service at the Perry Health Care Center on Tues. Nov. 26, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Perry Health Care Center. Facility residents and staff, family and friends are invited. There will be an open time in the service to share remembrances of Jimmy.
