Rosetta Nelson

Rosetta Nelson, 97, died peacefully at Vintage Hills in Ankeny on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. She was born September 6, 1916, in Aplington, Iowa, to Johns and Gerdena Johnson.

Rosetta was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church and enjoyed wintering in Arizona with her late husband, George. She also enjoyed collecting antiques and dolls.

Rosetta is survived by her son, Donald (Sandra) Nelson; grandchildren, Debra Nelson and Ron Nelson; great-grandchildren, Alex and Matt Nelson, as well as several brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Nelson in 2010, as well as many brothers and sisters.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Friends may visit with the family Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
