Kathleen M. Churchill

Kathleen M. Churchill, 93, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at the Mitchell Village Care Center. She was born on July 1, 1920, to Thomas and Veronica Dolphin in Kingston Corner, Pennsylvania.
Kathleen always had a zest for life. She took up the hobby of hang gliding in her 70s and was one flight away from obtaining her hang gliding pilot’s license before her stroke. She was a long time member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Ss John and Paul Catholic Church. Kathleen also enjoyed bird watching and spending time with her grandchildren.
Kathleen is survived by her sons, Edward, Teddy, Bruce, and Mark Churchill; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Seibel, who died in WWII; second husband, Teddy Churchill; son, John Churchill; four infant grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 at Ss John and Paul Catholic Church, 1401 1st Avenue South, Altoona, with burial at Mitchellville Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Our condolences on the passing of Aunt Kathleen. We unfortunately have not seen her for quite some time. I remember her as always having a smile and good words about everyone. The rest of the Seibel's also send there condolences.

We're so sorry to hear of our dear Aunt Kathleens passing. She was a special lady and a loving aunt to us. Can't believe that we will not be able to drive to Iowa to see her anymore. Miss her so much already and forever.
