Darhol M. Miller
November 10, 2013
Darhol M. Miller, of Des Moines, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, with his loving family by his side. Darhol was born on June 17, 1936 in Des Moines to Trana (Mitchell) and Walter Miller.
Darhol met the love of his life, Beverly, when they were teenagers and the two have been married for 58 years. Darhol retired from John Deere after 38 years of loyal service. Darhol absolutely loved his work, even after retirement he wished could he could go back. He was meticulous about his clothes, his home and his yard. People would comment as they drove by the house as the home of “Mr. and Mrs. Clean”. You may even have seen Darhol walking the cat “surveying” the neighborhood. Most of all Darhol loved his family and he will be greatly missed.
Those left behind to cherish Darhol’s memory are, his loving wife, Beverly; his daughter, Deborah (Philip) Trent; grandsons, Andrew Dobbins, Adam (Melissa) Dobbins and Brice Jones; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Boden and Kamden Dobbins; special nieces and nephews; and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Barbara Sturdevant and his great- granddaughter, Avery Dobbins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Burial will follow the service at Highland Memory Garden Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Darhol’s family.

Just learned of Darhol's passing. I'm a cousin, but its been so many years probably no one will remember me. My parents, Edith and Arthur Frye were good friends of Trana and Walter as well as related, and I went to school with Barbara. My wife Mary passed away in August, so I know what you are going through. My sincere sympathy.

I don't have the magical words to express my condolences but I am truly sorry for your loss. Darohl or as the girls would say "Erkel" was a great man, Heaven gained another great angel yesterday. In the days and months to come take them one at time, lean on friends and family for support. We love you very much. Michelle, Kirstin and Lauren
