Leonard S. Headlee

Leonard Scott Headlee, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on Friday, November 8, 2013, at the Fleur Heights Care Center. Leonard was born on June 3, 1951, in Carroll, Iowa, to Lyle and Lochiel (Vance) Headlee.

Lenny grew up and graduated high school in Lake City, Iowa. After high school he moved to Des Moines and attended a barber college. He then went on to own and operate Lenny’s Barber Shop for over 30 years.

Lenny is survived by his sons, Scott (Shannon) Headlee and Adam (Amy) Krause; daughters, Rachel (Scott) Krause and Jennifer (Orvil) Retman; sisters, Trudy (Robert) Scott, Pam Polke and Vanessa (Rick) Johnson; six grandchildren, Shelby, Spencer, Seth and Ashlyn Headlee, Samantha Richardson and Michael Retman; and other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Kevin Lyle Headlee.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Western Hills Condominium, 4601 Woodland Avenue #2, West Des Moines.
