Grandma,
I know you wouldn't want me to be sad, but I can't find any other way to feel right now. I don't know if I will ever find someone who I will connect with as much as I connected with you. We had such a special connection and you were a huge part of my life. You told me that you thought God was keeping you here on earth to see me graduate nursing school, but he needed you sooner than that. Maybe it's because this way you will get to actually see me graduate while looking down on me in heaven. As much as it hurts to lose the most important person in my life, I'm one hell of a lucky girl to have an angel as special as you guiding me through everything I do. I have had so many friends that have come with me to visit you that constantly told me how amazing of a grandma you were. I will always cherish every single memory I have had with you and hold them close to my heart, especially playing your last game of scrabble ever with you before you couldn't see enough to play (and you kicked my butt!), our sleepover in your apartment, and staying with you a couple months ago while you were in the hospital and fortunately getting to spend another day with you due to my car breaking down. I'll be looking forward to you sending me signs from above. I know you're always going to be with me through everything I do. Rest in peace grandma, I'm sure going to miss your cute little self. :) --p.s. I'm sure you're eating a lot of your favorite Panera soup up there! xoxo

Lorraine - when we first met you were the mother of a friend of my sister-in-law, but you became my nephews beloved Grandma Raine, a good friend, and an essential part of our Seattle family. Godspeed on your journey to a new life and your reunion with others you have loved. We will always remember you!

You told me not to be sad when you died, because you were not afraid and that you were ready. Your faith, courage and positive attitude, are lessons to us all on how to live a better life.
I will truly miss you!
