Russell Smith

Russell Smith, 88, was born January 30, 1925 in Harrison County, Missouri, the son of Russell and Frederickina Smith. He went to be with his Lord and Savior November 3, 2013. He married Peggy Nelson, the love of his life, on June 20, 1946 in Bethany, Missouri.

Russell is survived by his children, David (Shonna) Smith, Paula (James Jr.) Newman and Dennis (Roz) Smith; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; 3 half-brothers, as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Peggy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ankeny Baptist Church, 2842 SW 3rd Street Place in Ankeny. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2013 at Miriam Cemetery in Bethany, Missouri.
