Doris Tassin, 87, passed away November 4, 2013 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. She was born June 7, 1926 in Des Moines, the daughter of Melvena and William Crowder.

Doris enjoyed crafts, spoiling her grandchildren, and wintering in Texas with her late husband, Donald.

Doris is survived by her sons, Bill (Gayle) Tassin and Richard (Rhonda) Tassin; 5 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and brother David (Edna) Crowder. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, husband Donald, and her daughter Loretta.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in loving memory of Doris.
