You may not see this, because I did not hear of his passing until too late. But, I am sorry for your loss. I worked with Mark at the sheriff's civil division but moved to a different county office, and lost touch. My sincere prayers for his family, which was his top priority and love in his life.

Mark was a friend and co-worker for many years. He was always ready to share and give advice about smoking food. He was a very dedicated Deputy and was always ready to go the extra mile no matter what. His memory will always be in the minds of those that came in contact with him. My sincere condolences to his family.

Mark was part of my extended family which was comprised of Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies and staff. I served from 1976 to 1987, at which time I took a position with the U.S. Department of Justice. Needless to say, I have fond memories of Mark. He was dedicated to his family and profession, a team player, and he was one of many senior officers that provided valuable lessons and helped me get through my rookie years. I shall miss him.
