Jerry Gillespie, Sr., 42, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born January 23, 1971 in Des Moines, the son of Karen and Larry Gillespie, Sr.
Jerry enjoyed riding motorcycles and living life in the fast lane. He was a family man and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his children, Jerry Gillespie, Jr. and Jessica Gillespie; grandchildren, Destinee, Natalie and Emalie; mother, Karen; and his brothers, Larry and Frank Gillespie. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. The family will receive visitors Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Jerry.

dad- the years have come and gone and i still come to this site and wish there was something, someway, somehow i could just have you back. i just need you to hold me tight and tell me everything will be alright. i need you dad. i love you so much and will never ever go a day without thinking of you i love you so much dad.. it still breaks my heart daily. but i know that someday- we will meet again <3

JB it certainly is sad to see you go at such a young age. You and Vanessa were great friends to Gary and I when we were younger. Thanks for being there for me when I lost him. Please tell Gary hello for me, Gary and his new grandson Gary III. God Bless - until we meet again. Vanessa - I am so sorry that we haven't kept in touch over the years but am still glad that you thought of me at this difficult time.
