Bruce Pulver, 61, passed away at Methodist Hospital on Monday, October 28, 2013.
Bruce was born July 15, 1952 in New York. He was a very talented musician. He played the guitar and piano and loved writing music.
Bruce is survived by his children, Libby, Carolyn, Jonathan, Maggie and Nick, sister, Joyce and brother, Bob.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Gerard Pulver.
According to Bruce’s wishes, his body has been cremated. There will be no services held at this time.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Bruce when I was staying at Hope Lodge. He was such a nice guy. I am in shock that he passed away. I enjoyed hearing him sing and play the piano. I have some personal videos from him playing at Hope Lodge, if the family would like copies. He will be missed!!!!

To the family of Bruce Pulver: Me, my wife and 3 daughters have been touched by Bruce's amazing fight and testimony of faith in God. We met him at the Hope Lodge and became friends. We cheered one another on and prayed for one another. He kept telling me to "stay in the game" and not to give up my fight in beating pancreatic cancer. I told him that the Lord gave us the miracle we've all been praying for and he healed me. The last time we spoke with Bruce was when he called me and said the doctors were pleased with his labs and that he was cancer free. We praised God together, and he told us he was going to have a celebration party next spring and we were invited. When we couldn't get a hold of him we finally searched Norwalk IA for obituaries hoping to not see this. We are so sorry for your loss. Your father shared how much he loved all of you and we will miss him dearly. He touched many at Mayo and Hope Lodge with his gift of music and friendship. We are sad but thankful he is at peace and no more suffering and pain and singing in the presence of the Lord!

I am so sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. He was one of my favorite patients, I am still in shock after hearing this news. He was always positive and put up a good fight! He will truely be missed!

Our condolences to the Pulver family!! We had not seen Bruce for awhile but would run into every once in awhile around Norwalk he always greeted us with a smile! He will be missed!

I frequently did Bruce's labs and he was always smiling when he came to the office. Sometimes he would sing Journey songs to us and he emailed me his singing at Mayo. I am so sorry for your loss. He was such a nice guy and he is missed!

I'm very sad to hear about Bruce's passing. I had not seen him in a very long time but many years ago he taught me how to play the guitar. He was a gifted musician,
a patient teacher and a kind friend. He once got me to his and Cathy's house for a surprise party by telling me Aerosmith was there. Ha! I remember Libby and Nick only when they were small and they meant the world to him. Heaven is getting quite an addition to its in-house band. My condolences to your family.
