Susan Graaff

Susan Mary Graaff, 76, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at her home in Des Moines. She was born March, 24, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lorin and Ethel (Arsers) Graaff.

Susan was a graduate of both Roosevelt High School and Drake University. She retired from the Des Moines Public School System in 1999. She was a member of the Iowa State Education Association, Des Moines Education Association and the National Council of Teachers in Mathematics. Susan was also an active volunteer. She supervised the Red Cross Learn To Swim Program for 30 years at Birdland Pool in Des Moines.

Susan is survived by her brother John Graaff of Colorado Springs, foster son Nick Clark of Des Moines and foster grandchildren Danielle and Dylon. She was preceded in death by her parents.

An inurnment was held Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
