Service Details
Marlene Lovonne Grove, 74, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 under hospice care at her home in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born February 21, 1939 in Webster City, Iowa to James and Vanetta Kepler.
Marlene worked for EMCO Doors until her retirement. She is survived by her sons, Vincent Grove and Keven Grove, both of Des Moines, grandson, John Grove, sister, Sandy Snyder and brother, James Kepler.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Grove, daughter, Janell Grove, her parents, and sister, Garnett Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Saylorville Church, 6429 NW 6th Drive, Des Moines, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Vincent and Kevin,
I have fond memories of visiting your family while growing up. I always enjoyed your family. Aunt Marlene was always a gracious hostess. I also remembered her desire to sing and overcome her fear of doing so in front of an audience. To that end, we sang a duet at my parents Silver wedding anniversary. I enjoyed the time we spent together practicing for that event. She is singing in heaven now for our Lord. She will be missed. God Bless you both and comfort you in the days and weeks to come.

I thank everyone for they're kind words. Also to hear of special times spent with my mother streanthens my thoughts of her and how she touched lives other than my own. My mother truly played a part in every aspect of my life and she will be dearly missed. Aside of my own selfishness however I know that she now is at peace with the Lord, never to feel the sarrow or pain that can be attached to this world and for that I rejoice. Please rejoice with me. She left this world as she wanted; at home and naturally. All the knowledge and technology of this world could not have kept her past her God given time. And if it had, it would only have been of His will. I had a friend that had multiple procedures of all the latest science and technology to remedy his failing heart and the Lord still called him home. The Lord may have allowed that to work but In the same respect that He gives us that knowledge and technology. He also has the power to heal. A healing was not His will this time but a homecoming! Let's all please rejoice in that belief that my mother is at home with her heavenly father I pray in Jesus name Amen!

Vincent and Keven, I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother. She loved you both very much, and I know you loved her, too. She is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus. Together they are with your dad and many other family members. My prayers are with you. I love you both. God keep you in His care.
