Thomas Earl Porter, II, 63, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Taylor House Hospice.
TC was born December 30, 1949, in Des Moines, to Thomas and Arlene Porter. He was a self-employed plumber.
TC is survived by his children, Mesha (John) Garcia, Tom Porter III, and Amy Porter; grandchildren, Clayton, Maximus, Taylor, Tom IV, Meah, Danielle, James, and Jason; siblings, Michael (Terry) Porter, Daniel (Rhonda) Porter, and Jane (Thomas) Graham; and his aunt, Ruth Evans.
The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

I,m so sorry for the familys loss. tom was one of my best friends for the last 40 years. he was just over to my house not too long ago and i was so shocked to see how sick he was.I loved him like a brother and will miss him so much. way god be with you.

I remember a story my mom told me. Her and my dad met up with Tom on a certain night to have a good time. Well, my dad is not the dancing type, so Tom did the honors for my dad and pulled my mom to the dance floor and danced with her ... (I'm sure he asked). My parents always enjoyed telling me that story.
