Service Details

Dustan “Dusty” James Towne, 29, passed away at Methodist Hospital on October 20, 2013. Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines with visitation on Thursday, October 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the funeral service on Friday, October 25 at 10:00 a.m.

Dustan was born on February 15, 1984 in Des Moines, IA to Dona Ludwig and Joseph Towne. He grew up in Des Moines and worked for Martin Grading and Landscaping; a perfect fit as he loved being outdoors and running his “Big Roll Machine”. Dustan had many talents. He enjoyed fishing and in particular ocean fishing off Port Hueneme, CA. He was a hobby chef and enjoyed experimenting with various dishes and then of course eating them. He was a bass guitar player and loved jamming with his friends. But most of all, Dustan loved being with his family and friends and was known for his kind heart and his smile. His smile could warm hearts and open doors – I can’t imagine what he’s getting away with now.

He is loved and will be greatly missed by his parents; Dona (Don) Ludwig, Joe (Pam) Towne; his grandparents, Don and Maxine Ludwig, Harold and Leona Towne; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Dustan is also survived by his siblings, Aleasha (Mike) Dodds and Vincent Anderson; nieces, Ella and Audrey Dodds; and by his second family, Dee Anderson and other loving relatives and special friends. Dustan was preceded in death by his uncle, Jerry Krenz; and by Bob Anderson.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in honor of Dustan. Online condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.
