Joseph "Jo Jo" Parish

Joseph “Jo Jo” Parish, Jr., 61, died Friday, July 27, 2007 at the VA Medical Center with his family at his bedside. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service.
Jo Jo was born March 11, 1946 in Richmond, Virginia to Joe and Virginia Parish. He graduated from North High School in 1964, went on to the University of Northern Iowa, then graduated from the University of Missouri. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Jo Jo was a local musician and was known for his storytelling. He enjoyed friends and music.
Jo Jo is survived by his sisters, Betty Jo (Paul) and Donna (Tim); brother, James (Tena); many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley; and brother, Jack.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
