James C. "Jim" Jones

James “Jim” C. Jones, 48, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at his home after a year and a half long battle with lung cancer.

Jim was born April 5, 1965, in Des Moines. He was a union painter working many years at Wes Jarnagin Painting. Jim was a member of IUPAT Local #246. He was a perfectionist and took great pride in his work. Jim enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and playing poker. He had a great sense of humor and loved being surrounded by his large family and circle of friends.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Chris; son, Jeff Jones; mother, Linda Deaton; father, Terry (Sandra) Jones; two nieces; a nephew; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended relatives, and special friends.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. The family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
