Donald Weary, 61, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013.
Donald was born September 29, 1952 in Madison, Wisconsin to Donald Dean Sr. and Betty Weary.
Donald was a man of few words. He put on a tough exterior but was really a softie on the inside. Donald was proud of the fact that he had been sober for 13 years. He had a big heart and would help anyone he could. He enjoyed playing Texas Hold’Em and his last employer was Waveland Golf Course as a chef.
Donald is survived by his long-time companion, Marcia Payton of Des Moines, daughter, Lisa King, grandchildren, Jeremy (Stevi), Skylar and Travis, great-grandchildren, Dominick and Taya, and best friend, Thomas Stillwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Betty Weary of Des Moines.
There are no services planned at this time.

I remember you as a young man, handsome, and nice. May we all die as we were brought in to this world, sober. I am sorry our paths weren't meant to be crossed more than a few times but I have thought of you over the years always in a good way. I remember when we were on Grandpa Weary's porch and the railing broke. We were lucky we didn't go over the two stories with it. Sounds like you found some peace the last decade or so of your life. Nice!

Marcia, My sincere condolences to you and your family. Donny was my friend as a teenager and former Brother in law and we always got along well. I had not seen him since his Mother Betty passed away years ago. Wow! 13 yrs sobriety. Good for Donny! I wish you well. Rest in Peace Donny. Gary M. A friend of Bill W.

There are no words to describe what mr Don meant to me. He made no bones about what a pain in the ass I was ,sending him to the store, and many other chores! But he wouldn't, stand to have it any other way. He brought my groceries to me, told me I shouldn't, be eatin, all this crap, I told him to bite me and he went out the door, laughing and saying, I love you too heifer! He was priceless to say the least and he will leave a huge hole in my life and my heart. My love goes out to Marsha for putting up with me with boundless patience, and understanding. My love to you both always.
